This bedframe is exactly the type of bedframe one usually finds in Europe and particularly in Italy.
It's a basic model, with no slats-adjustment possible, but it's very robust and does its job greatly.
It fits with Ikea Mattrasses without problems. You don't really feel the metal bar in the middle, with a good mattress it's perfectly smooth.
The bed comes unmounted and it's up to you to put it together; it takes a little less than two hours and you really want to pull all the screws tight, but I've done it once three months ago and the bed is perfectly firm and stable. Maybe a little instruction manual with the box would be appreciated, but it's not impossible to figure out.
In all, given the price tag, this is probably the best solution one can find in the United States altogether. Forget those ridiculous and huge box springs and foundations, it seems like you're sleeping on a bed from the middle ages. I don't understand how one could want that. Also, those things get nasty with humidity and sweat and it's a real ordeal to get rid of bed bugs if you get them. With this system, it's just clean, easy and simple.
It's a good buy.
